Hi. I'm a Westerner and can't help but wonder do you not find it a bit strange having Syria ruled by Assad. I mean, and I mean no offence and enjoy your blog, but he did come to office by his father. Doesn't it seem a bit dynastic. Thanks x

News From Syria Answer:

Yes I understand as someone who lives away you may not know that he was a very active person humanitarian wise and people never knew  him as the son’s president because he was every where between the people. When his father died people where confused since he ruled for a long time and the “Muslim Brotherhood” was doing just a few years ago car bombs and attacks because they wanted to rule and because people were afraid of them after Hafez Al Assad funeral people marched in the streets asking for Bashar Al Assad to be elected.

I didn’t create this blog 10 years ago so I didnt create it to support him at that time nor to criticize him. All I know that for the 2 presidential cycles  he ruled the rates of crime in syria where one of the lowest in the middle east (Syria in 2008 was named one of the top 20 safest countries in the world) and he opened up the country and gave much more freedom than his father. Most importantly we lived in a country where all religions are treated equally. On our passports and National IDs there is no mention of your religion or sect unlike all Arab countries. Women are treated equally and have equal chances of All government positions and we used to return at 5 am in the morning walking in the street alone and no one ever was attacked.

So I don’t think it is his fault of what happened in the past 3 years. It is because of “gangs” like the Muslim Brotherhood and their armed gangs who refuse to accept Syria as a secular country and want it to be just for Muslim Sunni (not even all Muslims) which is a shame because most Syrians dont think this way.

Most importantly for everyone to know I will stand by the president not because he is Assad or not but because he is the Commander of the Army and right now the Syrian Army men who are dying to defend us are above all political aspects. We want our country free of Jihadists and Al Qaeda crap then we choose who rules us! It is an inside matter not international.

More Mortar Rockets shell Damascus Today

At 3 pm one of the deadly rockets fell in front of a School in Damascus (although it is summer and school is closed) yet because of the wide empty space infront of the school children were playing.

7 people were injured and 4 dead including the children. Smoke and blood was every where and some people had panic attacks from the sad view of people laying on the ground and blood all around them.

Just to note those rockets were fired as usual from Jobar in Damascus suburb that is occupied by the so called “Islamic Fighters”.

Enough! Stop your evil terrorism

Photo update: the Last picture is for the 4 martyrs that were killed yesterday. 3 of them are 16 years old  (Bisher,Firas and Wissam) who were infront of the school and Wiam is 30 who was just leaving his workplace. May their souls rest in peace.

Do you feel bad that chemical weapons were used by the regime against civilians?

News From Syria Answer:

Claudio Gallo an article published in Arabic two days ago, quoting a Russian source.

According to the source, Russia’s ambassador in the UN Security Council, Vitaly Churkin, presented conclusive evidence – based on documents and Russian satellite images – of two rockets carrying toxic chemicals, fired from Douma, controlled by the Syrian “rebels”, and landing on East Ghouta. Hundreds of civilians – including those children on the cover of Western corporate media papers – were killed. The evidence, says the Russian source, is conclusive. This is what Lavrov himself was hinting at yesterday. And that’s the reason there’s no UN Security Council resolution against Syria, and why Washington does not want the inspectors to find anything.

Maybe you should read more and know why the USA ,UK and France who were ready to intervene militarily in Syria called it off at the end. People shouldn’t be so naive it was only a way to enter Syria like they did in Iraq and Libya for the petrol ofcourse but it didn’t work.

Are firearms legal to own by standard citizens in Syria? If not, do you think it would be a good idea to arm the men of families in Syrian Army controlled areas incase of an attack in order for them to defend themselves?

News From Syria Answer:

No firearms are illegal only people in police force or army are allowed to have them or if you are under direct threat.

Many families of the Syrian Army asked to become armed especially after the massacre that happened near Turkish boarders with Lattakia when 250 members of Army families were slaughtered by Foreign terrorists (Afghan, Chechen and even europeans) yet the government refused saying that this way most people will be armed and it may become misused and lead to chaos.

do you have relatives in different parts of Syria and if so, could you visit them if you wanted to?

News From Syria Answer:

I do have relatives in other parts of Syria. I have near Daraa and Tartous I can visit both easily. They are no areas we can’t access or are dangerous except those with radical islamists or ISIL(raqqa ,idleb, der zor suburbs and Aleppo suburbs). In fact I was just few days ago in Lattakia which is 4 hour drive away from Damascus. We passed by Qalamoun , Homs and Tartous and everything was easy and peaceful. Posted pictures from the road earlier
